Foreign Language Voice Recording
Adelphi Translations has its own an in-house digital recording studio for foreign language voice-over projects.
Each project will be set up and managed by the studio manager. The recording will be fully edited and formatted to your exact specifications.
We can provide audio files in any format, including WAV, WMA or MP3. We can deliver the files to you via email, FTP or on CD or DVD.
Adelphi has relationships with CD & DVD Duplication companies around Sheffield and can arrange substantial discounts for duplication runs. Adelphi specialises in the 'Community Languages' of the UK, i.e. foreign languages spoken by immigrants to the country.
For small runs we can burn CDs or DVDs in-house and design and print a label onto the disc.

Foreign Language Typesetting (DTP) is our speciality at Adelphi, especially in complex scripts. Cambodian, or Khmer, is the official language of Cambodia with speakers in the tens of millions and its own exotic script. The Khmer alphabet was developed from the Brahmi script of ancient India.......
The Equi-Trek website has already been translated by Adelphi into French Italian and German. Now they are rolling out (literally) their horse box products into the Scandinavian market.......
Farsi typesetting (DTP) and Hindi typesetting (DTP) pose no probems for Adelphi. Farsi and Hindi websites and voiceovers are also part of our service. Farsi uses a modified version of the Arabic script and runs right-to-left. Farsi Typesetting must be done using specialise software which can handle right to left scripts. Hindi typesetting poses its own problems with non-standard fonts, some of which do not work with standard typesetting software.
Urdu typesetting or DTP (Desk Top Publishing) poses particular problems. Not only is the Urdu language written right-to-left, but there are two distinct 'forms' of the language, Nastaleeq and Naskh. Nastaleeq is considered and art-form and is a very complex script to reproduce, requiring specialised Urdu Typesetting (DTP) software. Naskh is the more commonly used script in typesetting for Arrabic, Persian, Pashto etc. and can be used for Urdu too.
Adelphi flexed its multimedia muscles again combining sound recording and video editing to produce a Mandarin version of a documentary about listed buildings in Sheffield (Yorkshire).
Arabic is one of the few languages written using a script which runs right-to-left. This poses special problems for typesetting as much of the standard software used in the west does not handle right-to-left scripts.
