Bartec enters the Japanese Market

    Japanese

Bartec is a business based in the North of England which specialises in the production of tyre pressure monitoring equipment. The managing director, Colin Webb, wanted to promote his products to Nissan, in Japan, and also to arrange a meeting with them.

The Bartec website was translated into Japanese
(View Bartec Japanese website).

  1. Nissan could now read all about Bartec’s products in Japanese.
  2. It demonstrated that Bartec were very serious in their intention to work with Nissan.

We also translated all of Bartec’s marketing materials into Japanese, and typeset and printed them. The brochures were then sent to Nissan.

Colin Webb also felt that it would be beneficial to be able to communicate with Nissan in their own language, so we arranged for a local Japanese linguist to be an intermediary. This person was given a Bartec email address, and introduced to Nissan and all of the other suppliers involved in the project. The Nissan management could now talk to Bartec in their own language, which, as they said in their first email, “was such a relief to us”.

Two weeks later, Colin Webb was invited to go to Nissan Japan to make a presentation. He took with him the Japanese interpreter to provide language support. Prior to leaving we provided them with a PowerPoint presentation in Japanese for their meeting with Nissan. The Bartec laptop was set-up to handle the Japanese language, and Adelphi provided colour print-outs in English and Japanese that could be handed out during the meeting.

The presentation was a great success and Adelphi has continued to work with Bartec producing technical support materials in Japanese for Nissan and their suppliers. We have also worked with Bartec to support their sales and marketing in Sweden and Germany.
