Foreign Language Typesetting (DTP) is our speciality at Adelphi Translations , and we are especially adept at handling complex scripts. Urdu typesetting or DTP (Desk Top Publishing) poses particular problems. Not only is the Urdu language written right-to-left, but there are two distinct ‘forms’ of the language, Nastaleeq and Naskh. Nastaleeq is considered an art-form and is a very complex script to reproduce, requiring specialised Urdu Typesetting (DTP) software. Naskh is the more commonly used script in typesetting for Arabic, Persian, Pashto etc. and can be used for Urdu too.
