Punjabi is spoken in the Punjab region of N.W. India and in Pakistan. Care has to be taken when typesetting Punjabi as it can be written in three different scripts, depending on the region.
For Punjabi destined to be read in Pakistan typesetting must be carried out in the Shahmuki script, which is a variant of the Arabic script and is written right-to-left.
