Arabic Translation, Typesetting, Websites, Voice overs and Subtitles
Adelphi Translations has a collection of software to accurately place Arabic translation into Arabic typeset documents, websites or subtitles. You can trust your Arabic and other Middle East language projects to Adelphi Translations as we have recently completed jobs in these formats for Amnesty International, the Overseas Development Institute, Jaguar, Tesco and Muslim Aid.
Adelphi have become a preferred supplier to Amnesty International.
After visiting Amnesty in London to meet with their designers and project teams, we were given Kurdish Sorani, and Farsi materials to typeset. Since then we have set over 12 languages for them including: Croatian, Tamil, Cambodian, Albanian, Malay, Romanian, Romani, Hungarian, Ukrainian, Sinhalese, Indonesian, Russian, Portuguese, Georgian, Slovak, Kinyarwanda, Swahili, Greek, Hindi and Bengali.

When the typesetting is done it is not possible for the client’s printer to print from the original data in InDesign as the printers would require the Middle Eastern version. Using the standard English InDesign would corrupt the text. To facilitate the printing we provide print ready PDFs.
Print ready PDFs are high quality PDFs set up to the printer’s specifications which can contain registration and crop-marks, bleed and spot or special colours for the printing process. Because the fonts are embeded into the document when it is created it can be printed anywhere.
Jaguar and Land Rover Cars
This project came from their London advertising agency who required the translation and typesetting of promotional brochures for the new Jaguar XF, X Type and XK and the Land Rover Discovery. The languages were Arabic, Russian and Chinese.
We also provided an Arabic native speaker for their office, so that they could proofread the final brochure in-house, before publication.
Overseas Development Institute (London)
Adelphi were contacted by the ODI’s HPN (Humanitarian Policy Group) because they had an Arabic translation of a document called ‘Humanitarian Exchange’, concerning the humanitarian crisis in the occupied Palestinian territories. The HDI needed this document typeset for print. They supplied us with the Quark file, together with the images, which we converted using Adobe InDesign ME (Middle East version) for typesetting in Arabic.
Patak’s Tandoori Curry
Adelphi were asked to translate and typeset the file below so that all three languages appeared on the same document. When displaying multiple languages on one document the original design must take this into account, otherwise the final result could look very confusing and over complicated.
