Adelphi Translations Ltd. derives its name from the Greek word ‘Adelphi’ meaning brothers. The founders of the company are indeed two brothers. Each had complimentary expertise from the foreign language industry. One had experience gained from typesetting multilingual printed materials and the other with expertise pertaining to website and multimedia applications.

Adelphi quickly established itself as a competitive translation agency offering over 150 languages with in-house typesetting and website localization services. In its first year Adelphi carried out projects for D&AD, AXA, Sainsbury’s, Barclays Bank, Philip Morris and TNT.

The quality of service and value for money delivered by Adelphi meant that the company enjoyed year on year growth. New clients such as Tesco, Wham Brands, Bradford Council and Barnsley Council came to Adelphi with requests for a variety of translation, typesetting and voiceover work.

Adelphi specialises in working with the more difficult languages such as Japanese, Chinese, Urdu and Arabic. The unique expertise of the foreign language typesetting and multimedia department meant that right to left languages and complex scripts could be formatted in-house.
