The founders of the company are two brothers, hence the name "Adelphi", the Greek word ‘Adelphi’ meaning brothers. Each had expertise from the foreign language industry. One from typesetting multilingual printed materials and the other in website development and multimedia applications.
Adelphi quickly established itself as a competitive translation agency offering over 150 languages with in-house typesetting and website localization services. In its first year Adelphi carried out projects for D&AD, AXA, Sainsbury’s, Barclays Bank, Philip Morris and TNT. The quality of service and value for money delivered by Adelphi meant that the company enjoyed year on year growth. New clients such as Tesco, Wham Brands, Bradford Council and Barnsley Council came to Adelphi with requests for a variety of translation, typesetting and voiceover work.
Adelphi specialises in working with the more difficult languages such as Japanese, Chinese, Urdu and Arabic. The unique expertise of the foreign language typesetting and multimedia department meant that right to left languages and complex scripts could be formatted in-house.
